Baťa Canal is the perfect place to spend an interesting holiday or weekend. It offers possibilities for water tourism, bike tours and active relaxation.
Baťa Canal was built in the 1930´s as part of an irrigation project. The Baťa shoe company owned a lignite mine in Ratiškovce and the waterway was used for fuel transport up to 1960. Its importance was restored in the 1990s when it started to be used for tourism purposes.
